Residents can take a neak peek at Hinckley's £80m bus station redevelopment over the next two days.

The scheme, dubbed The Crescent, has been reduced in height, with the whopping multi-storey car park being moved entirely under the development. And plans to include residential acommodation on top of a parade of restaurants have been scrapped in favour of more space for eateries.

The final planning application for the development is anticipated to be submitted in spring 2010. Work should start on the scheme in 2012, and the team behind The Crescent anticipate it will be open in 2014. Many aspects of the exisiting scheme remain, inclluding a large food store, several retail outlets, cafe's and restaurants, and a five-screen cinema. The size of the bowling alley has been slightly reduced to 12 lanes, but remains a key part of the development.

The plans will also be available to view online at www.hinckley-bosworth.gov.uk
