London architect, Engle, has unveiled first images of the 1.3m sq ft mixed use Town Centre North scheme, which is set to transform Harlow Town Centre.
Engle's design re-integrates the northern area of the town centre and Market Square quarter with the Harvey Centre and the Watergardens development to the south. It includes over 500,00 sq ft of retail and leisure space with a new department store and food hall, new leisure quarter including a multiplex cinema, cafe's and restaurants.
The development team - a partnership between Harlow Council, the developer, Stockland, and Harlow Renaissance - has started public consultation about the scheme.
Following public consultation during summer 2009, a planning application will be brought forward in 2010. Subject to planning permission the new development is expected to open in phases from late 2013 with completion anticipated in 2015.
